Perception on Classroom Debate Technique, Self-Confidence,
Speaking Skill
E. This research aims to know the effect of perception on classroom debate
technique and self-confidence towards speaking skill. This research
employed a quantitative method with a survey design involving 89 eleventh
grade students at State Senior High Schools in Sukabumi. The data were
collected using questionnaires and a speaking skill test and were analyzed
using multiple linear regression. The results of this research shows that: 1)
There are simultaneous significant effects of perception on classroom
debate technique and self-confidence towards speaking skill. This is proven
by a Sig < 0,000 < 0,05 value of Fcount = 21,991. 2) There are significant
effects of perception on classroom debate technique towards speaking skill.
This is supported by a Sig = 0,030 < 0,05 and tcount = 2,052. 3) There are
significant effects self-confidence towards speaking skill. This is supported
by a Sig < 0,000 < 0,05 and tcount = 6,591.
