Students' Perceptions of Teaching Methods, Learning Styles,
English Language Skills
This study aims to determine the effect of student perceptions of teaching
methods and learning styles on English language skills in senior high schools
in Bekasi City. The background of this study is the importance of understanding
how students evaluate the teaching methods used by teachers, as well as student
learning style tendencies (field dependent and field independent).
E. The research method used was quantitative with a survey approach. The
research instrument was a questionnaire that covered indicators of students'
perceptions of teaching methods, learning styles, and English language skills.
The sample in this study consisted of 90 students, using a multiple linear
regression analysis model. The results showed that: (1) There was a significant
effect of students’ perceptions of teaching methods and learning styles together
on the English language skills of private high school students in Bekasi City.
This is evidenced by a Sig. value of 0.004< 0.05 and an f count of 5,814. (2)
There is not a significant effect between students' perceptions of teaching
methods and the English language skills of private high school students in
Bekasi City. This is evidenced by Sig. 0.145 > 0.05 and f count 1,479 (3) There
is a significant influence of learning styles on the English language skills of
private high school students in Bekasi City. This is evidenced by Sig. 0.003 <
0.05 and t count 3.077.
