E. The present study is aimed at demonstrating the effect of perception on
learning media (Gemini Live) and learning motivation towards students'
English speaking ability. The objectives of the research study are: 1) To know
if there is a significant effect of perception on learning media (Gemini Live)
on students' English speaking ability. 2) To know if there is a significant
effect of learning motivation on students' English speaking ability. 3) To
know if there are significant effects of perception on learning media (Gemini
Live) and learning motivation together on students' English speaking ability.
The survey method was employed in this study. The population of the
research was 1,026 students, and 92 students were chosen as the sample based
on proportional stratified random sampling. The instruments used in
collecting the data were a questionnaire for perception on learning media, a
questionnaire for learning motivation, and an oral speaking test for English
speaking ability. The data gathered were quantitatively analyzed with
descriptive statistics which cover mean, mode, median, and standard
deviation. Moreover, a multiple regression model was utilized to know the
effects of independent variables on the dependent variables. The results show:
1) There is a significant effect of perception on learning media on students'
English speaking ability at Private Junior High Schools in Bekasi Regency. It
is proved by the score of Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount = 4.327. 2) There is a
significant effect of learning motivation on students' English speaking ability
at Private Junior High Schools in Bekasi Regency. It is proved by the score of
Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount =6.890. 3) There are significant effects of
perception on learning media and learning motivation together on students'
English speaking ability at Private Junior High Schools in Bekasi Regency. It
is proved by the score of Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and Fcount = 34.643
